HAPPY ANNIVERSARY HOWARD’S ELECTRICAL!!!

"Safe, Smart, & Done Right."

Howard's Electrical Service Co. located on North Hale Road in Tampa has been in business since April 17, 1984. This year we are celebrating 42 years of electrical services. Currently we serve residential and commercial in the Tampa Bay area. A proud family-owned company specializing in troubleshooting, repairs and installations anywhere from new construction projects and code corrections to upgrade home renovations. Our company is led by Rob Bentz who oversees every single operation day to day. He leads by example showing each person whether an employee, customer, or any visitor respect and reliability. Therefore, our employees treat everyone with the same respect showing punctuality, a safety-first mentality and true camaraderie.

One of our most senior employees, Leonard Topping is our Master Electrician. He started at this company in 1988 and never left.

Fred, who also started in 1988 has seen it all. He is our Go-To Man!

Eric is our Project Manager Electrician who is in charge of a crew of electricians who mainly focuses on the hospital – Tampa General. He has a demanding role making sure all safety precautions are taken.  “It’s truly amazing to look back at how far we’ve come as a company in the 17 years I’ve been with Howard’s.

It’s wonderful to look back and realize how not only have we have doubled in size of employees, but also how wonderful our office is now compared to the “old house” I was hired in. From having to worry about it flooding from the everyday summer rains and very little room for material storage to the spacious warehouse and “elevated” office space.

As said by others already, this is truly a family first company to work for and Rob goes above and beyond to help each of his employees, it’s a joy to come to work every day and be surrounded by like-minded co-workers.

At the TGH we’ve gone from simple patient room and office space remodeling to procedure room renovations and major medical equipment installations (CT machines, CATH Labs, In Patient and Out Patient Pharmacy remodels).”

Lonnie in his own words has said, “I've been at Howard's for almost six years.

I came by the company by accident but it was a "happy accident”. It’s not easy to be a company man in this trade but Howard's makes it easy.

I'm happy to work with likeminded people I consider family.”

Ken said, “20 years ago, A friend of mine (Tom Ross), left the electrical company we were working for and went to Tampa to work. 6 months after he started our company in Lakeland went under. Tom told me about Howard's Electrical and set up a meeting with the owner Don, (Rob's dad). From the first time I walked into this little house which was an office and meet Don, I knew this was where I wanted to be. Through the years we have seen friends pass away, employees come and go, new building and equipment. Howards has always endured and made it through hard times and still came out on top. Rob and Leanord have taken this company to new heights and made what it is today. With the great employees we have I only see this company going up. Over the years Howard's has been built on family ideas.

Words from Steven, our Goat! “I’ve known Rob Bentz since high school from playing baseball with his son where we became best friends, so when I talk about Howard’s Electric, I’m speaking from a long-standing connection. After my time in the military, I had a career in mind, but things shifted. In 2016, I asked Rob if I could tag along to see what the electrical trade was like. He sent me out to United Fire, where I met Manny, Rafael, and Miguel. At first, they didn’t know me, but they sure do now. After a couple months of voluntarily learning, I asked Rob to hire me full-time. I didn’t have much experience beyond small tasks, but Rob brought me on, and that’s when I met Ken. Ken took me under his wing for the first few years, showing me the ropes. He saw my dedication and knew I’d do well. Now, eight years later, I can handle just about anything in the trade with full confidence.”

Howard’s Electric is a place where you work with some of the best. We’ve got friendships, laughs on the job, and a focus on getting the work done right. Rob leads by example—he’s kind, understanding, and values everyone’s time. He respects us, and he cares about treating customers right. I remember when he took over the company, way before my time being here. He worked long, hard hours learning what it takes to run a company. Now, nearly 20 years into his ownership, Rob’s done a fantastic job and has made this company something special. He’s an amazing person and a great boss. Rob has done so much for me here at Howards Electric, as well as outside of the company. Whenever I need anything, he’s there for me. He truly is an incredible human being. I’m proud to be part of Howard’s Electric.

Javier is one of our residential electricians who goes above and beyond. He has several reviews from customers who have expressed his professionalism. Javier said, “I’ve been with Howard’s Electrical since 2016. I came in fresh out of electrical school and have worked on residential, commercial, and everything in between.

I still remember my first interview and finding out Rob was a car guy like me. I’ve always been big into Mustangs, so that was a cool connection right from the start.

Over the years I’ve learned a lot and it’s helped shape me into the electrician I am today. Having a boss that supports you and gives you the chance to grow makes a big difference, and I’ve been able to build my skills through real work in the field.”

You don’t stay in business for over 40 years by accident! It takes dedication, transparency, the ability to change and adapt, and the idea that you are always raising the bar.

Our team is grounded in quality and aims for the brightest results!
